How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Lozelle has an unhealthy obsession with numbers, details and everything finance. She cannot explain it but money management has always come easy for her. That led her to a successful career working for a number of fortune 500 companies in various accounting and finance capacities. Lozelle M Mathai, MBA,CFEI is a graduate of Long Island University, Hunter College and Berkeley College. She holds an MBA in International Business, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an Associate Degree in Accounting/Business Management. In addition, she has a certification in Human Resource Management and one as a Financial Educator Instructor. She is the founder of Closing Your Books LLC, a financial consultancy firm that focuses on small businesses. Prior to opening Closing Your Books LLC, Lozelle worked in Finance and Accounting in various capacities for over 15 years. During her tenure she worked for a number of Fortune 500 companies. At the time she specialized in financial management/reporting, managerial accounting, organizing and interpretation of financial data, monitoring cash flow, profit/lost and budget generation and analysis, and predicting future trends. She prides herself in the fact that she has been able to bring these skill sets to small enterprises, allowing them to make smart and confident financial decisions.
